The War Within: Season 2
So Season 2 starts this week, and with it the gearing treadmill begins again...
As is usual these days, I finish Season 1 as the best-geared player in the guild, despite a slow start while I forwent upgrades to let others get geared ahead of me. I generally don't need early upgrades to play well, but I think this season, with the difficulties I had getting certain items across Season 1, that will change this time.
Season 1 went pretty well all told:

Was present for every single kill we had (six) on Mythic Ansurek, and ended up with a healthy 87.2 parse overall at Season's end, and 602nd in the world. Not bad.
In normal mode I ended up as 7th in the world:

And I was #1 in the world for WEEKS, but then we stopped running normal raids when the Nerub-ar Finery buff capped out.
As for heroic, we didn't touch it after October at all, after we went full on into Mythic.
Pretty good season all around. Only made a handful of ADHD-brain mistakes, usually on Ovinax because I wasn't paying full attention to marker locations (which were inevitably hidden underneath the boss's gargantuan arse).
All told I enjoyed the raid and the tier as a whole.
Settling into a new guild is always something I find daunting, especially coming from a guild and a raid team that I'd really enjoyed being an integral part of, suddenly being the new guy in Season 4 of DF was a complete change. This first season of TWW was the first competitive season I'd had with the new guild, Sordid, and it felt like it took me a long time to feel completely comfortable in the raid team.
I think I've got there eventually, but it still feels bad when I make the occasional screw-up, and rightly so!
This season of m+ is something that I'll probably jump a bit more into, and start doing 12's to get to 3k score for the new mount. Well, it's a recolour of the KSM mount, but still. I did all the dungeons on 10's this season for the portals, which is the first time I've done that, so I definitely pushed a bit harder in S1 than I normally do.
M+ is still something that I'm not overly fond of, but it's a good source of early gear, and the seasonal rewards are worth pushing for, but after that I'm not particularly fond of it. Running the same 20/30 minutes of content over and over across 6 months? Eurgh.
I hate replaying games I've completed before, re-reading books or rewatching TV shows, and this slips right into that territory.
But, we're at the most exciting part of any season, the launch, and here's hoping we can get a quick and early CE polished off this season!
